Dutch feature film Accused, directed by Paula van der Oest, has been chosen as the official entry from the Netherlands to the Academy’s Best Foreign Language Film Award. For Paula van der Oest this is the second time one of her films will be the Dutch submission for the Oscars. In 2002 Zus&Zo was nominated but did not win. In the past fifty years eight Dutch films have been nominated, three of which took home the coveted award. Namely: The Assault in 1986, Antonia's Line in 1995 and Character in 1997.
