American actress Lauren Bacall has died in New York at the age of 89. Her Hollywood career spans seven decades, with roles in successful films such as Key Largo, The Big Sleep and The Mirror Has Two Faces. At the age of nineteen, Bacall made her debut in To Have and Have Not, a film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's book. In the film she starred opposite Humphrey Bogart, whom she would later marry in 1945. They remained together until his death in 1957.
