Felix van Groeningen's The Broken Circle Breakdown was declared winner of the LUX Audience Award 2013 during the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival tonight. At the end of last year, the film also won the main prize of the European Parliament's LUX competition. The announcement of the audience award officially concludes the 2013 LUX competition. At the same time, the ten nominees for the LUX Prize 2014 were also announced in Karlovy Vary, including the German-Italian-Swiss film Le meraviglie by Alice Rohrwacher with the Flemish actor Sam Louwyck in one of the leading roles.
