Frederike Migom's short film Malakim was awarded the prize for best short fiction film during the closing ceremony of the Shanghai International Film Festival (June 14-22). It is the first award for the film since its international premiere last March. Migom's Malakim was screened in China within Mobile SIFF, part of the Shanghai International Film Festival that focuses on the discovery of new directors and the screening of high-quality short films. Every year, 15 short fiction films, 5 animated films and 5 short documentaries are selected for a chance to win various prizes.
