Pedro Almodovar will receive a prize for his entire oeuvre during the Lumière-Grand Lyon Festival in October. This is reported by the organization of the festival. The Spanish filmmaker is best known for heavy, often psychological dramas such as Matador, Volver and La Piel que Habito. He collaborated several times with actor Antonio Banderas. The 64-year-old Almodovar also programs part of the French festival himself. This selection is presented as Almodovar: Mi Historia del Cine. Previous winners of the Lumière Award include Clint Eastwood, Milos Forman, Gerard Depardieu, Ken Loach and Quentin Tarantino.
