American actress and dancer Carla Laemmle has died at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 104.
Silent film actress Carla Laemmle (104) has died. Laemmle was one of the last remaining actresses who ever starred in silent films, in which the spoken word had not yet been introduced. After a brief career as a ballet dancer, she first appeared on the silver screen in 1925 in The Phantom of the Opera. 6 years later she acted in the classic Dracula, in which she spoke a few words.
