Making a film financially possible through crowdfunding is nothing new; enthusiasts in the United States can contribute to the making of a film for just 1 dollar. However, this project goes one step further. The producer of the film A Hologram for the King takes a major approach to financing: only wealthy film fans can afford to participate in his Kickstarter project. You must prove that you either earn $200,000 (over 145,000 euros) per year or have 1 million dollars (over 726,000 euros) in the bank to be allowed to participate.
