Christopher Nolan prefers not to work with new film techniques such as 3D projection and digital cameras. He strongly prefers real film and shooting in 2D. "I am in favor of any development, but it must offer improvement," the director told the American film site The Wrap. "My resistance to 3D purely has to do with what I find suitable for the films I want to make," says Nolan, who, after three Batman films and Inception, is known for his innovative films with cutting-edge techniques and visual effects.
