Darren Aronofsky's film Noah starring Russell Crowe has been banned by Indonesia. The film was previously banned in Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Russell Crowe plays Noah in the film, who is not only a biblical extra but also a prophet for Muslims. According to Islam, it is forbidden to depict prophets. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is therefore expected that the film will also be banned in countries such as Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait.
