The illegal video streaming service Popcorn Time, which allows users to stream films in high quality via the torrent protocol, is closing its doors. Popcorn Time reports this on its website. Previously, storage service Mega from Kim Dotcom removed the program from its servers after an alleged complaint from the American watchdog for the film industry (MPAA). Popcorn Time gives users the opportunity to search for films and stream them in high quality. The films are downloaded via the torrent protocol, where the user both downloads and uploads the film while the video is playing.
