Hungarian filmmaker Miklós Jancsó has died at the age of 92 after a long illness. In 1972 he won the prize for best director at the Cannes Festival with his film Még kér a nép, about a peasant uprising in the nineteenth century. Jancsó was known for his long scenes. In his historical films he made the passage of time visible through changing costumes.
