It is not getting any easier for women who want to make it in the film industry, on the contrary. According to the latest "Celluloid Ceiling" report from the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University, fewer women are now working in top positions in the film industry than in 1998. The report shows that only 16 percent of the staff who work behind the scenes in film productions are women. This concerns the directors, producers, editors and filmmakers who worked on the 250 highest-grossing films of 2013. This is lower than last year when 18 percent of employees were women.
