The Broken Circle Breakdown has been awarded Best Foreign Film at the Washington DC Film Critics Association (WAFCA) awards ceremony. The approximately 60 WAFCA members chose Felix van Groeningen's bluegrass drama over Cannes laureates La vie d'Adèle and The Hunt, among others. The victory in Washington is a new boost for The Broken Circle Breakdown, the Belgian Oscar entry this year, after the film also received the prestigious European Film Award for Best Actress last weekend. Following the film's American release in early November, The Broken Circle Breakdown is currently showing in approximately twenty American theaters, including Atlanta, Austin, Phoenix, Portland and Miami.
