The European Parliament has approved the Creative Europe programme. This means that the program could also be approved by the European Council of the 28 Member States in the coming weeks, so that it can start in January 2014. The program follows on from the current MEDIA, MEDIA Mundus and Culture programmes. Creative Europe includes a Culture sub-programme to support European cooperation in the performing arts, visual arts and cultural heritage and a MEDIA sub-programme for the audiovisual sector.
