The Verdict, Jan Verheyen's twelfth feature film, got off to a strong start. Nearly 50,000 visitors have already watched the film since its release last Wednesday. The verdict, for which Jan Verheyen received the Prize for Best Director at the Montreal World Film Festival, tells the story of Luc Segers (Koen De Bouw). When his wife's murderer is released due to a procedural error, he freaks out. He takes the law into his own hands and will then measure himself against the rule of law that has failed him.
