A graduation project by students from the film academy in Baden-Württemberg has caused a commotion. Daimler-Benz, the producer of Mercedes, is not happy with the unofficial Mercedes commercial by film student Tobias Haase. Despite the criticism, the commercial has been nominated for the First Steps Prize, which is supported by Mercedes, among others. In a statement, the company said that they find it unreasonable that the death of a child is linked to Mercedes, as happened in the commercial. Daimler-Benz also does not appreciate the relationship with the Nazi past.
