A sharp thinker with a distinct style and a broad view. This is the name given to the Belgian writer and critic Dirk Lauwaert, who died last Saturday from complications of a brain tumor. In 2006 he won the Louis Hartlooper Prize for Film Journalism. Lauwaert was 69 years old.
