Films by James Franco, Stephen Frears and Terry Gilliam have been selected for this year's Venice Film Festival competition. The oldest film festival in the world announced on Thursday the twenty films that have a chance to win the Golden Lion. Franco has a chance with his drama Child of God, in which he also plays the leading role. Frears has been selected with the drama Philomena with Judi Dench and Steve Coogan and Gilliam, known from Monty Python, comes with the drama The Zero Theorem with Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton and Christoph Waltz.
