Spike Lee turns to crowdfunding to get his new film financed. He is trying to raise $1.25 million through the Kickstarter website. The director put the project online on Monday and the counter now stands at almost fifty thousand dollars. “The film climate has changed,” Lee says in the promotional video on the Kickstarter website. “As an independent filmmaker, the only way to get your vision on screen is to put the money on the table yourself.” That's why Lee enlists the help of his film audience. “Please help me make my new film.”
