Next year, the Dutch Public Broadcasting (NPO) will program longer series, a smaller number of programs and less entertainment and human interest. Major entertainment such as Strictly Come Dancing disappears on Saturday evenings. The NPO board of directors made a decision in mid-July on the broadcast schedules for 2014, so that public broadcasters know which broadcast times they will be allocated for their program ideas.
