Television series, films and even commercials in Argentina must now be dubbed in the Argentine version of Spanish, or in one of the country's other indigenous languages. President Cristinia Fernandez decided this by decree on Wednesday. Any TV channel, cinema or other medium that does not comply with the new rules will be fined. For the new rules, Fernandez refers to a 1988 law that must protect Argentine culture and national identity. The proceeds from the fines will be deposited into a fund for the Argentine film industry.
