In Greece, the new public broadcaster announced by the government was launched today, on the same channel on which the old one broadcast. There are no programs available yet; for now, Greeks only see a test image. The Greek government suddenly closed the public broadcaster on June 11 because it was said to be too expensive. Coalition party Democratic Left did not agree and left the government, leaving Prime Minister Samaras with only a narrow majority.
