The Center National du Cinéma (CNC), the French government organization for supporting film production, has decided to award Tom Van Avermaet's short film Death of a Shadow with a Prix de Qualité. In addition to a quality label, the Prix de Qualité also comes with prize money: 5,000 euros to be divided between the director and the producers of the film, as well as 2,000 euros for Raf Keunen who wrote the original music score. At the beginning of this year, Death of a Shadow was nominated for the Oscar for Best Short Live Action Film.
