The American intelligence service CIA has intervened in the script of 'Zero Dark Thirty' (2012), the film about the search for and deadly raid on al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. 'The Agency' objected to two scenes of torture. The American site Gawker made the CIA interference public. The site has been allowed to view documents about 'Zero Dark Thirty'. It revealed that director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Mark Boal were in contact with the CIA about how the intelligence service would be portrayed. The purpose of those conversations was to arrive at 'an appropriate portrayal of the CIA and the operation against bin Laden'.
