The Dutch film Nono, the Zigzagkind won the 2013 Young Audience Award from the European Film Academy (EFA) on Sunday. The film by Belgian director Vincent Bal was chosen over a French and German entry. European films intended for young people aged 12 to 14 are eligible for the prize. Bal received a silver statue in the eastern German city of Erfurt. His film, which opened the Dutch Film Festival last year, is based on the book Het Zigzagkind by the Israeli David Grossman. Isabella Rossellini and Fedja van Huêt, among others, participate.
