Wouter Bouvijn has been nominated for the Student Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, the Student Oscar, with his graduation film Tweesprong. Tweesprong is among the nine nominees in this category. With his place in the final, Bouvijn follows in the footsteps of Robert Zemeckis, Spike Lee, Jaco Van Dormael and John Lasseter, among others, who all ultimately went home with a statue. The Student Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled for June 8.
