Actress and singer Deanna Durbin, one of Hollywood's greatest stars of the 1930s and 1940s, has died at the age of 91. Durbin made her debut in 1936 with the short film Every Sunday, in which she appeared with Judy Garland. In 1947, she was the highest-paid actress in the US. She stopped acting at the age of 27. Anne Frank had hung two pictures of Durbin in the secret annex in Amsterdam where she was hiding. She had cut the portrait and a photo of Durbin with actor Robert Stack from the Libelle.
