More than 1.72 million cinema visitors went to see a Flemish (co)production last year. These and other extras were announced today during the presentation of the 2012 annual report of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF). The presentation took place in two sessions: during the morning the VAF/Mediafonds presented its results. In the afternoon it was the turn of the VAF/Filmfonds. Representatives of the various sector associations were also heard during both sessions. Last year, the VAF/Film Fund approved projects worth more than 11.2 million euros in the various categories. The VAF/Media Fund, which is responsible for supporting quality television series, is also reaching cruising speed with approvals for more than six million euros in projects in its second year of operation.
