Flemish actress Veerle Baetens has won the prize for best actress at the Tribeca Film Festival in the American city of New York. The actress received the award for her role in the drama The Broken Circle Breakdown. The jury praised the 35-year-old Flemish for her powerful performance in the film. Felix van Groeningen's drama is about a young couple who lose a child. The drama also won the award for best screenplay.
