The Chinese release of Django Unchained has stumbled within sight of the finish line. Cinemas were told on Thursday, the day of the premiere, that the film was not allowed to run. Technical problems are cited as the reason, but it is more likely that the film did not pass the strict censorship despite adjustments by director Quentin Tarantino. Cinema officials say the request comes from the film's distributor, China Film Group Corporation.
