Global revenue from the sale of cinema tickets increased by 6 percent in 2012 to almost 27 billion euros. The American film association MPAA announced this on Thursday. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa there was a decrease of 1 percent. French, Spanish and Italians in particular went to the cinema less. But the Chinese managed to find their way to the film houses. Cinema tickets there yielded 36 percent more than in 2011. In the United States and Canada, ticket revenue increased by 6 percent.
