American filmmaker Richard Linklater was surprised in Berlin with a Berlinale Camera. The prize is awarded annually during the film festival in the German capital to filmmakers or organizations who mean a lot to the film world. The 52-year-old Linklater received the award on Monday evening during the premiere of Before Midnight. The drama is the final part of a trilogy about the relationship between a Frenchwoman and an American, played by Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke.
