Matterhorn director Diederik Ebbinge is looking forward to a Dutch tax shelter. "I moved to Belgium for the Matterhorn shoot because they have a tax shelter there," says the director and screenwriter.
"It is a shame that I am raising money here in the Netherlands that I will then spend in Belgium. I want to shoot my next film here again." The idea for a tax shelter has broad support in the Dutch film industry, which is in dire straits. According to many, the situation has been exacerbated by recent government cuts to culture.
