The photo company Kodak, which is in receivership, has sold part of its patents for digital imaging to a consortium. That earns the company $525 million. The sale of patents is an important part of Eastman Kodak's plans to emerge from bankruptcy protection. It stopped manufacturing digital photo technology in February. Well-known names such as Apple, Samsung, Facebook, Research In Motion from Blackberry, HTC and Google are involved in the consortium.
