Director Alfred Hitchcock's first film (photo) can be viewed online for free. Last year, large portions of 'The White Shadow' were recovered from New Zealand's National Film Archive, and now the US National Film Preservation Organization is posting the restored 1924 film online. Hitchcock was, among other things, the assistant director on 'The White Shadow', which lasts about 40 minutes. It was not until ten years after the print that he had his big breakthrough with 'The Man Who Knew Too Much'.
