In the new book THE NEW DIRECTORS, Urszula Antoniak explains why the most creative and talented makers do not receive subsidies. "Talented people often have difficulty selling their story. If you are creative and talented, you are also insecure. And if you are insecure, financiers do not find you convincing. (...) The problem with the subsidy system is that people want to measure creativity. Why do they want to measure that? (...) Because they don't like risks. And that is exactly where the problem lies, because making a film is taking a risk. Creativity is taking a risk."
