Fast forwarding advertisements will soon cost you money. That's what media executives Christian Van Thillo and Wouter Vandenhaute said on Tuesday during a debate where they were remarkably kind to each other - but very sharp to Telenet. They both fear that advertising revenue will not be sufficient to continue to pay for the current - historically high - expenditure on local programs. The additional income must come from digital services. Telenet is already offering these services, but without paying them for them. "The channels have been presented with a fait accompli," said Vandenhaute, "Now we want to sit around the table and talk."
