British actor Herbert Lom died on Thursday at the age of 95. British media reported this. Lom is best known as Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus, Inspector Clouseau's increasingly crazy boss in the Pink Panther films. Lom also starred in The Ladykillers (1955), War and Peace (1956), Spartacus (1960), El Cid (1961) and The Phantom of the Opera (1962). Lom was born on September 11, 1917 in Prague. His real name was Herbert Charles Angelo Kuchacevich ze Schluderpacheru. In the 1930s, Lom fled to Great Britain.
