Director, screenwriter and producer Pierre Drouot won the Flemish Culture Prize for Film at the Ostend Film Festival. Drouot was praised by the jury for his role in the innovation and internationalization of Flemish film, including as director of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF). Drouot was also a screenwriter for Harry Kümel and producer of 'Toto le Héros' (Jaco Van Dormael). In 1969, his film 'L'étreinte' was rejected at the Antwerp Film Festival because it was too erotic.
