Digital Domain Media Group, the studio that made the special effects for films such as Titanic and Transformers, has filed for protection against its creditors under the so-called Chapter 11. The company hopes to make a fresh start by selling some assets. Digital Domain was co-founded by director James Cameron, who was best known for the film Titanic. In 2007 it was taken over by action film director Michael Bay (known for the Transformers films), together with former Microsoft director Carl Stork.
