Italian directors Marco Bellocchio and Matteo Garrone no longer want anything to do with the Venice Film Festival. Bellocchio's film Bella Addormentata competed in the competition, but the director has no plans to ever return to the oldest film festival in the world. Garrone was the only Italian on the jury. The press in Venice was enthusiastic about the euthanasia drama Bella Addormentata, but the film did not win any awards.
