The owner of the website Surfthechannel, which linked to illegal copies of films and TV series, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison. The site owner was arrested in 2008. The anti-piracy organization FACT had hired a private investigator to investigate Vickerman. The detective had taken pictures of Vickerman's equipment. The Brit was not charged with copyright infringement, but with conspiracy to facilitate copyright infringement.
