James Cameron will set up a center in China to train in 3D filmmaking. The maker of The Abyss and especially Avatar will also supply 3D equipment and associated facilities. It is still unknown whether Cameron himself will also teach.
The 3D school is the latest in a series of collaborations between the American and Chinese film industries. The communist country is becoming increasingly interesting for Hollywood because of the steadily growing Chinese film market and a government that is increasingly willing to work with foreign financiers.
