Award-winning American composer and arranger Marvin Hamlisch (68) died on Monday in Los Angeles after a short illness. His family announced this on Tuesday. He has won three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globes for his work. Hamlisch made music for more than 40 films. He is known for the Oscar-winning film music of The Way We Were (directed by Sydney Pollack).
