The European Commission suspects 13 manufacturers of CD disc drives of participating in a globally operating cartel. The 13 companies are said to have coordinated the prices of their CD and DVD burners for orders from two large - unnamed - electronics companies, the Commission reported on Tuesday. The conspiracy is said to have taken place for at least five years. The Commission therefore calls the suspicions "one of the most serious violations of European anti-cartel rules."
