A new project was launched during the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa: African Metropolis. Seven African directors will make seven short films about seven African cities. African Metropolis will help the seven directors make films about their own metropolis - the cities of Abidjan, Cairo, Dakar, Johannesburg, Kinshasa, Lagos and Abidjan. It is an initiative of executive producer Steven Markovitz and the Goethe Institute South Africa, with support from IFFR's Hubert Bals Fund.
