At the Palm Springs International Shortfest (June 19 - 25), both Dura Lex by Anke Blondé and Nuru by Michael Palmaers won prizes. The short films won Best Live Action Short and Best Animation Short respectively. The winners received a cash prize of $2,000, but thanks to their first prize, they also have a chance to be added to the Oscars longlist.
