The Invader, the feature debut of Nicolas Provost, has been awarded the Grand Jury Prize for Best New Director at the Seattle International Film Festival. The prize in the US brings the film to six awards, three of which are for best director. The Seattle Film Festival (May 17 - June 10) had high praise for both director Nicolas Provost and his film: 'From the impressive opening scene […] you know you are in the hands of a shrewd provocateur. And The Invader is nothing less than a moving and layered provocation about race, culture, class and sex.' Previously, Provost won Best Director (Reflet d'Or) at the Geneva International Film Festival and Best Flemish Talent (Jo Röpcke Award) in Ghent.
