Matthias Schoenaerts has been selected for the leading role in Robocop, the remake of Paul Verhoeven's 1987 classic of the same name. Schoenaerts previously stated that 'he wants to choose his roles carefully and does not want to act hastily'. Meanwhile, Hugh Laurie, known from the popular series House MD, is said to be negotiating for the role of the villain. The film won't hit theaters until 2013.
