The Emmy Award for the best supporting actress in a television film or miniseries will no longer be awarded from next year. The awards for best leading role and supporting role are combined in this category. From now on, six actors and actresses will be nominated, instead of five. Last year, the television film and miniseries categories were already combined. Then Kate Winslet and Barry Pepper won the Emmys for best lead roles and Maggie Smith and Guy Pearce took home the awards for best supporting actor.
